A pair of astronomers are bringing their knowledge and telescopes to the CPPA Gateway to the Stars event. This is free and will be on the grounds for those interested in a peek into the Solar side of astronomy.
1st tour is almost full, book early if there’s
a specific time you’d like.
Tour times: 5:15, 5:45, 6:15, 6:45
The $20 (or more!) is tax deductible and goes to continue restoring and maintaining Yerkes through the Yerkes Future Foundation.

Cedar Point residents have been invited for a Gateway to the Stars evening at Yerkes Observatory which is just for Cedar Point Association families. Yerkes was the school home for Carl Sagan and Edwin Hubble, and was one of only three things Albert Einstein wanted to see when he visited the U.S. Come find out why!

Picnic on the south lawn of Yerkes with your neighbors (bring your own blankets, frisbees and food)

Take an entertaining 25 minute "speed tour" of the Observatory led by a Yerkes staff member (tours will be offered at 5:15, 5:45, 6:15 and 6:45pm. Tours are by donation ($20 per person minimum is suggested), and you can reserve your time here. The Observatory's restrooms and gift shop will be open just for Cedar Point members.

The gift shop and restrooms will be accessible, but the rest of the Observatory can ONLY be seen by booking a tour reservation. Capacity is limited!

Pets are welcome outside, but must remain on a leash. Please bring supplies to clean up after your pet.

Yerkes does not have outdoor trash receptacles; please remove your own trash.

Yerkes has 48 parking spots; carpooling is suggested. Please do not park in the adjacent neighborhoods; your car will be ticketed.
